Remembering the great man and patriot that raised Linda, his remarkable daughter that's been like a sister to me for over two decades.

It was with great pleasure that I served with Al on board the USS Norton Sound. Al was a great mentor to me as a young Ensign. He was a great officer with a wonderful sense of humor and was a brilliant man. I will always remember him. May peace be with your family.

Claudia and I were so sorry to hear of your loss this morning. I'll always fondly remember Al, particularly the numerous rounds of golf Larry and I played (in my case, played badly) with him. Larry, I regret that we've lost touch with each other over the years. I hope we can get back in touch and spend some time together in the future. You all have our deepest sympathy.
