La famille Millaire remercie sincèrement le personnel du CHUM pour les soins attentifs dont il a bénéficié.
La famille recevra les condoléances lundi le 27 août 2018 de 10h à 13h au Centre Funéraire Côte-Des-Neiges situé au 4525 ch. de la Côte-Des-Neiges, Montréal, Qc H3V 1E7. Suivi de l'inhumation au Cimetière Notre-Dame-Des-Neiges. Un hommage à Albert aura lieu au TNM à une date ultérieure.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Albert Millaire, on August 15, 2018. This renowned theatre artist left us, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 83. He leaves to mourn his wife Michèle Marchand, his three daughters, Anne (André Hamel), Catherine (François Babin) and Frédérique, his grandchildren Philippe (Vicky St-Pierre), François (Julie Gadoury), Frédéric (Stéphanie M. Germain), Xavier, Pascale (David Bastien) and Constance (Kevin Beauciquot Lubin), and his great grandchildren, Thomas, Andy and Camille.
The Millaire family would like to sincerely thank the staff from the CHUM for their attentive cares.
The condolences will be held on Monday August 27, 2018 from 10:00 to 1:00pm at Centre Funéraire Côte-Des-Neiges, 4525 ch. de la Côte-Des-Neiges, Montréal, Qc H3V 1 E 7. Followed by a burial at Notre-Dame-Des-Neiges Cemetery. A tribute to Albert will be held at the TNM at a later date.

I first met Albert when he came to Stratford to direct Roch Carrier's La Guerre, Yes Sir! where I was a liaison between the Stratford company and la compagnie TNM. We became fast friends, although I was much younger. I , marvelled at his ease with actors and his genuine love for the material and his coIleagues. In a meeting with John Hayes, administrator of the Festival at the time, he remarked "They're all having a picnic down there!" And we were! The rehearsals were full of invention, so positive, and unlike the rather serious rehearsals of the English company. Later we would work together with composer Berthold Carriere on a sumptuous Malade Imaginaire produced in London, Ontario at the Grand Theatre, later in Dallas Texas and a wonderful Scapin for Toronto Arts Productions. In later years I always made a point of visiting him whilst I was in Montreal and was fortunate to have lunch with him and his wife at his last visit to Toronto when he appeared there with the incomparabel Louise Marleau. To his wife and children and extended family I offer my sincere condolences. There is an ache in my heart. RIP
