Albert Reza Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 27, 2024.
Albert Reza, 77, a longtime resident of Anaheim, passed away peacefully late Thursday evening, August 22, 2024 at Celine hospice home in Anaheim. He was the beloved husband of Lydia (Zuniga) Reza with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

He was born in Buena Park, CA on December 18, 1946 and was the son of the late Joseph and Jesse (Aguilera) Reza.

Al was a graduate of Buena Park High School, Class of 1964 and later continued his education at Fullerton College. He honorably served his country in the Army while stationed in Germany from 1966 to 1968.

Shortly after his return home to Southern California, he met the love of his life, Lydia, at a beach party and she became his beautiful wife. Together they raised their four sons and made happy memories amongst friends and neighbors on their active block. Al was employed as a builder in home construction for over 40 years and retired with Robert Smith Construction in 2011. He was a proud member of the Carpenters Union.

Al was a devout communicant at St. Martin de Porres Church until his dementia illness prevented attendance. He also volunteered on the Sunday Coffee and Donuts Ministry and was a member of Knights of Columbus.

Al enjoyed spending time with his extended family and showed off his athleticism at annual picnic reunions. He was a voracious reader and also liked playing his favorite music at home and took pride in his gardening skills. Al was a devoted son, brother, husband, father and grandfather who always put his family first. He will be remembered for his natural charm, self-discipline and tireless work ethic.

In addition to his loving wife Lydia, Al leaves his sons, Aaron Reza and his husband Mark Langlois of Los Angeles, CA; Gregory Reza of Novato, CA; Alan Reza and his wife Adriana of Anaheim, CA; Garrett Reza and his partner Michelle Kreidt of Chino Hills, CA; his five grandsons, Caleb, Dante, Zachary, Justin and Noah Reza; his sisters Rosie Arce, Angie Morales, Mary Wartenberg and her husband Jim; his brothers Edward Reza and his wife Judy, James and Joseph Reza; and brothers-in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was sadly preceded in death by his siblings, Annie Perez, Connie, John, Michael, Paul, Ralph and Rudy Reza; and four cousin-siblings also raised by his parents, Barbara, Joe, Marcus, and Richard Reza.

Rosary will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 10am at St. Martin De Porres Church, 19767 Yorba Linda Blvd. Yorba Linda, CA, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 am.

Reception to follow in the church hall.

Interment at Queen of Heaven cemetery, Rowland Heights, CA will occur at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to the Veteran's support organization: Homes for our Troops, or to CHOC Hospital.

I had 9 brothers and they always were there for me and my children, But my brother (Pinky) Al was my biggest protector when I was raising my children. And my sister-in-law Lydia was always standing by him. They were best.
