LAKELAND - Albert Wuellner passed away on May 18, 2016, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, at peace, in the company of family.
Born in Covington, KY in 1929, Al and his family moved to Lakeland from Cincinnati, OH in 1966.
He worked as a draftsman in the phosphate industry and was a Korean War veteran.
Al and his wife, Shirley, worked as foster parents for Catholic Charities for many years and cared for many babies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert J. and Clara (Kuhlmann) Wuellner; his sisters, Ruth Majewski and Helen Wuellner; and brother, Clarence Wuellner.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Shirley Wuellner; son, Vince Wuellner (Susan); daughter, Judy Clenney (Kendall); sisters, Dorothy Wuellner and Janet Lutterbei; grandchildren, Natalie Mahiques (Courtney) and Andrew Wuellner; and twin great granddaughters, Madalynn and Savannah Mahiques.
The family will receive friends at Church of the Resurrection, 3720 Old Highway 37, Lakeland, FL, prior to a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, Friday, May 27.
