Alberta Deerinck Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 11, 2022.
Alberta Jean (Vassar) Deerinck, passed away peacfully on March 8th at the age of 94. A lifelong native of Stockton, Alberta was born to Albert and Doris Vassar on December 24th, 1927. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Robert John Deerinck, Sr., siblings Francis Vassar, Vern Vassar, and LaVerne Cupp, her son Robert "Rocky" John Deerinck Jr., and her grandson Peter Thomas Spring. She is survived by her children Patricia (Pat) Jacquez, Nancy Travis, Sally (Bruce) Keszler, Mary Spring, Joan Bernadette Jones, Thomas (Karla) Deerinck, Timothy (Dina) Deerinck, Charles (Alessandra) Deerinck, Laura Martini, 22 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She graduated from Stockton High School, married Robert (Bob) and began the incredibly frenetic yet beautiful adventure that was her life.
She took great pride and joy in her 10 children and was even crowned San Joaquin Homemaker of the Year in 1965. In addition to raising ten children, she was a faithful parishioner at St. Bernadette's Church, volunteered
teaching catechism, and helped with bookkeeping at her husband's business, John Falls Men's Shop.
She later began working as a food clerk at Safeway for nearly 20 years. In her spare time, Alberta enjoyed family water skiing trips on the Delta, swimming with the Silver Aquanuts at UOP, and even played in a ladies poker club. She blessed all that knew her with her warm smile and gracious personality. She was truly one of a kind, and will be dearly missed. There will be a private service for immediate family members. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, help her generosity and compassion continue by making a donation to the Maryknoll Sisters at maryknollsisters.org or Hospice of San Joaquin www.hospicesj.org
