Alden Edward Smith

Alden Edward Smith passed away on June 18, 2024 at Downers Grove Rehabilitation and Nursing Home (previously Providence) in Downers Grove. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Gail (Molda) Smith, daughter Deborah Ann Smith and her children, Zelus Alden Smith (great grandson Spencer Alden Smith,) Ian Alden Corrigan, and Hayley Ann Corrigan, and Son Paul Henry Smith, and his wife Kimberley Anne (Halliwell) and their children Grace Anne Marie Smith and Simon Alden Smith. He was born on July 29, 1938 in Chicago, IL to Anna (Zamkus) and Henry F. Smith and was predeceased by his brother Henry F. Smith Jr.

Alden honorably served in the United States Air Force. Alden, an insurance CPCU, successfully ran the Smith Molda Insurance Agency with his wife Gail. Alden and Gail enjoyed traveling to many countries. He and Gail were especially fond of their golfing days at Geneva National Country Club. Prior to relocating to the Chicago area, he and his wife enjoyed the previous 15 years of retirement, living in Henderson, NV and Golden Years in Lake Geneva, WI. Alden and Gail were decades-long members and supporters of St. Walter Catholic Church in Roselle, IL.

Alden will be laid to rest on July 11, 2024 at 11:00am at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Justice, IL.
