VERO BEACH, Fla. — Mr. Alex John Deltwas Sr., 68, formerly of Methuen and Atkinson, N.H., beloved husband of Thelma (Pitochelli) Deltwas, died Monday morning, Oct. 12, 2009 in the Exeter Hospital, Exeter, N.H.
Born in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mary (Filinancute) Deltwas. He was raised in Methuen and received his education in the Methuen school system.
Mr. Deltwas had owned and managed real estate throughout the Merrimack Valley area prior to his retirement.
He had resided in Methuen for 46 years, moving to Atkinson, N.H. in 1987 and had resided in Vero Beach, Fla. the past five years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, Alex is survived by his sons, Alex S. Deltwas Jr. and his wife Claudine of Danville, N.H. and Darren Deltwas of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Lisa Deltwas of Salem, N.H.; three grandchildren, Shawnee, Ailani and Kiley; a sister, Ann Hoyt and her husband Wally of Kingman, Ariz.; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Pitochelli of Salem, N.H.; brother-in-law, Guy Pitochelli of Haverhill; sisters-in-law, Rosemary Emond and her husband James of Seabrook, N.H. and Diane Deltwas of Lawrence; several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Julius and Tony Deltwas.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 16, 2009 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, North Lowell Street, Methuen.
