Dear Erik, Amy & April,
You have all been in mine, Jake's and Patrick's thoughts and prayers so much over the past 11 months. There have been memories of Alex and Jake's childhoods that have come up and we can't help but chuckle over some of the things they've done. As the intense pain and shock of losing Alex changes to fond memories and delight that he is with our Lord and Savior, we can rest peacefully knowing there is an angel in heaven looking over us. We miss him so dearly! We love you all.

Dear Erik, Amy, and April,
We think about all of you so often and pray that there is comfort in the memories you have of Alex. There are so many who are keeping all of you in our daily prayers. May the Lord's presence be especially real to you as he brings you the comfort that only he can give. Much love to all of you. Robbie and Duane Cripe.

Flemings and Friends,
It sure seems like it's been shorter than six months since we lost our beautiful Alex. As time goes by, I still miss seeing him at school and playing football. It doesn't seem right for a great guy like him to be gone.

Hello Fleming Family,
Please know that we are still remembering Alex for the wonderful young man that he was. We are also continuing to pray for each of your family members. John and I are especially praying God's peace for all of you as you approach the holidays. It is our prayer that this holiday season will be a time of rejoicing in the Lord and a time to remember all of the wonderful times and laughter that Alex brought your way. I know that he is always with you. We pray that you will discover many ways that this is so. We write these words, not to make you sad, but to encourage you to continue trusting God for the future. We love you all. Charlotte and John Posey

Hello once again Eric, Amy, and April,
As we were praying for all of you today, the Lord gave me this verse that I wanted to pass along to you. I pray that you will draw strength and comfort from it.
Isaiah 43:2
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you; and when you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon you.
There is no way that I could possibly understand your sorrow, pain or loss, but I do know that one day God will dry your eyes and the Bible says He collects all your tears. (Psalm 56:8) We love all of you and wish that we could lessen your grief.

Dear Fleming Family,
It is hard to believe that something like this could happen to such a great person. However you know as well as I, that God is great and if we just trust in him we can get through anything. I miss seeing his smiling face each day but I can only imagine the way he looks as he stands in the presence of the one true almighty God. I love your son very much and miss him dearly. Erik, Amy & April, We were so saddened to hear of Alex. This has to be the most difficult time a parent could ever go through. Each day we have looked at his picture and read about his accomplishments. What an outstanding young Christian man! His influence will no doubt continue to touch the lives of his family, friends and all those who knew of him. God will give you His strength, peace and comfort. What a glorious place Alex is enjoying now! He reached the prize first as he is now with his Heavenly Father. Please take comfort. Your family will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

I did not know Alex but I've heard a lot of great stories about him. My sister Allyce has mentioned your family to me several times over the years and I am so saddened to hear of your tremendous loss. I also remember hearing about Alex last football season and his Gold Shoes. His personality shines through his photos. I've heard stories about him being such a hard worker, being a great student, a great friend to many, and his future was filled with such promise. While I did not know him the stories related to me by some who loved him so dearly lead me to believe he must have been one of the most impressive young men of his generation. Alex deeply touched the hearts of many. I am very sorry for your great loss.

To the entire Fleming family-
When I awoke to hear the news of Alex's passing a few days ago, it immediately brought tears to my eyes. My daughter attends school with April, and I only knew of Alex through her, and of course- his "gold shoes" and his accomplishments on the field. In hearing people talk this week, you truly raised an amazing son and he will be missed by many. Knowing that he is with his Heavenly Father now is comforting, but it doesn't lessen the pain and sorrow that you feel. Nothing any of us can say is going to help that. Just know that you are not alone, and the entire community is here for you.
I simply cannot express with words how my family feels right now. It breaks my heart to think of your pain and loss right now. Please know that we are praying for you.
April- keep your head up sweetie. Losing Alex is a devastating loss, but always remember that he's watching over his little sister always.

I've never met Alex or any of his family until I saw the news of his death and it touched my heart. We have five children and many, many grandchildren and I can not fathom the idea of loosing any of them. One always hopes that their children, or their children's children will outlive the parents but as we know at times like this that isn't always the case. I believe if Alex had the chance to leave the place where he is right now and return to this world and his loved ones he would refuse... He is in a wonderful place and loving it! Like I said I have never met Alex but the Lord seems to be shinning through his smile and his eyes. He is a handsome young man and seems to have left his print on many hearts including my own. My prayers are with you and yours through this time of sorrow. May God always be with you.

To the the family of Alex:
I know there is nothing that I, or any other person in the world can say to relieve the pain you are experiencing. I know that the future months, even years, are going to be some of the hardest you have ever experienced. All I can really do is assure that your son was loved by everyone he was around. He was my teammate, and a friend of mine. He was on the football with me, in band with me, and was in my AP History, Physics, and English class. Fot the past two days, the clases have been quiet, because your son has not been there to brighten them up...He had a bright smile, and a wonderful personality. He had a great sense of humor, determination, and an unusual kindness. Like I said before...he was loved by everyone that was around him. I was truly priviliged to know him. I want you to know that my prayers and thoughts are with you. Alex was truly an amazing young man who left an impression on everyone he came into contact with, and shall always be remembered.

alex was such a special person and he touched so many people's lives as not just anyone could do. one of my best friends started dating alex a couple of months ago and he treated her so good..they had so much fun together. I loved seeing them together because he was just such a sweet gentlemen who loved life. just his fun-loving and unselfish personality made everyone want to know him and hang out with him. he was so good at everything he did it made everyone jealous.. but he was not boastful at all when he could have easily been. I know this is probably one of the hardest things Whitehouse High School will ever go through but i can't imagine the pain that the family is feeling. My family and I are praying for you constantly that God will give you a peace about Alex and where he is at this very moment. he's probably looking down on us saying "hey don't be sad for me.. im with Jesus right now and you will see me again soon :)"
you are in our thoughts and prayers

Erik, Amy, and April,
Words can not express how sorry I am for your loss. I remember Alex was such a joy to be around whenever he came with Erik to work at Petrofac.
Remember to lean on God for strength in your time of need and that he will always be with you.

The picture of Alex I have chose to remember is of him running down the side walk to the school bus.."April is coming, April is coming" What a joy it was to have such sweet/wonderful children to take to school each morning. Thanks for letting me be a small part of Alex's life. I believe his gold shoes now match his gold wings. He will forever be missed by all of us at WHS!

through your life you showed compassion for the unfortunate
through your death you showed us what we should be
so many people loved you and always will
this is my letter from us to you,

Amy and Erik: There are no words to say but our hearts hurt for your family. I only remember Alex from our 2oth reunion and how much he looked like Erik. It does not surprise us to learn what a wonderful, smart, talented young man he was. Growing up with the two of you how could he have been any different. Ya'll set excellent examples for him and reading about him is proof that you truly raised him the way God wanted. The people of Mexia have you in our prayers.

Erik, Amy and April,
I am truly sorry for your loss. Alex was always a breath of fresh air when he'd stop by to see you at Petrofac. He was an amazing young man then. I can only imagine how amazing he became over the years. That says a lot about your family and values. The Fleming family is in our prayers.

To Alex & his family; There are just no words that seem powerful enough to express how very sorry I am for your loss. How many people can leave this world at such a young age and leave such a huge following. It sounds like Alex touched every person that he came in contact with. May the Lord and your many friends give you the strength to make it through this most difficult time.
