Not sure what to say?

Mrs. Jones and family,
I grew up on Glendale just a few doors down and I have so many cherished childhood memories of you and Mr. Jones. I was so sad to hear about your loss. Mr. Jones was a friend to everyone and an incredible role model to both the children and adults in the neighborhood. I am honored to have grown up with you and Mr. Jones being part of our lives.

As Randy Travis says in Three Wooden Crosses, "It's not what you take when you leave this world behind you, It's what you leave behind you when you go" -- Mr. Jones' legacy will live on through everyone who was touched by him in this lifetime.

God Bless you and your family-

We are so sorry for your loss. Mr. Jones was our neighbor and friend that we will miss very much. We miss his morning walks where he would pick up newspapers from driveways and place them at the doors. He always had a friendly wave when we would drive by and he would be outside. We feel that it was a great honor to have known this man. Not only did he "talk the talk, but he walked the walk" of a true Christian. Glendale has suffered a true loss with his passing. God bless each of his family and give them comfort.

Mrs. Jones and family: My sincere sympathy to all of you. I served on the historical commission with Mr. Jones. He was a true gentleman. I cherish the memory of his visit to me in the hospital and his prayer for my recovery.

To Mrs. Jones, your son Mickey and Family , Our family was deeply saddened to hear the news about the sudden death of Mr. Jones. He was one of the most honorable and proud African American men we've ever known and were fortunate enough to have as a neighbor and friend. My siblings and I have fond memories of Mr. Jones washing his automobiles which he always kept immaculate, (every kid on the street knew that playing around his cars was an absolute no-no) cutting his grass and anyone elses that for what ever reason wasn't able to, all while smoking a cigar. He always had a smile on his face. Every word he spoke to us were words of encouragement, congratulatory, wisdom or spiritual in nature. Although I can't remember exactly when was the last time I seen Mr. Jones, my brother Smiley, my sister Angie and I always joked that everyone else on the street we lived on were getting old except for Mr & Mrs Jones. They looked the same to us 35 years after we first met them in the early 70's. Rest in peace Mr. Jones, You will be surely missed.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL
Sincerely Dena A. Banks and Family
