Funeral Monday 10:00 A.M. from Muzyka Funeral Home, 2157 W. Chicago Ave., to Sts. Volodymyr & Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church for a 10:30 A.M. Funeral Service.
Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery.
Visitation Sunday 4-8 P.M. with a Parastas (Prayer Service) 6:00 P.M. at Muzyka Chapel.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the
Alex Melnyk Memorial Fund.
This fund will be used for the
Aid & Assistance of our veterans.

Dear Motria & family,
I just heard about Alex's passing and wanted to express my sincere condolences. I was a teacher's aide in Rae Stone's classroom when he was in third grade. He was a wonderful student and was always very polite and sincere. I am truly saddened and upset to hear this news. I envisioned a wonderful life for this little boy. I hope my words can somehow bring you comfort and peace during these very difficult years. I'm sure that everyone who knew him was in some way touched by him.

I had reservations about writing a sentiment because I had only met Alex a few times when I first moved to Illinois from Washington for graduate school. It was a little over a year ago but I have never forgotten him and kept in touch just through social media. He is one of the special few who radiates genuine kindness from his contagious smile, has a calm, warm presence that makes you immediately feel like his friend and an adventurous spirit that sparkles in his eyes. Thank you Alex for making this big city seem a lot less scary and making it a better place just by being you. You have been and will be missed more than you could have ever imagined.

I am shocked and saddened to hear this very sad news. I worked with Alex at Houlihan for several years, we had a great working relationship and I've always missed his friendship when he left the firm. Worked many years alongside of Alex. He was absolutely gifted in his work and was extremely passionate in everything he did. I always enjoyed hearing his stories from the travelling. Alex will be deeply missed. My condolences to the family.
