It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Alexandre Daniel Poirier, a University of Sherbrooke student, aged 22, on May 20, 2016. He will be deeply missed by his parents André Paul Poirier and Gisèle Marie O'Brien, his brother Thierry and his sisters Emmanuelle and Gabrielle, his grandparents Yvon Poirier and Noëlla Mathieu, Daniel O'Brien and Denise Dagenais, his uncles, aunts, cousins, many friends and colleagues. Friday, May 27 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 28 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. To celebrate Alexandre's life, a Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Ste-Philomène Church, 893 St-Jean-Baptiste Blvd, Mercier, QC. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alexandre's memory to the Montreal Heart Institute would be greatly appreciated.

I'm extremely saddened by Alexandre's passing. He was my son's best friend and I'll always remember and be grateful for the difference he made in my son's life, for the light and support he brought him in the difficult moments, for being his true friend that cannot be replaced by anyone else. My heart goes out to Alexandre's parents- Andre and Gisele,his siblings and his grandparents. Rest in peace, Alexandre.
