AGE: 12 • Middletown
Alexis "Lexi" Taylor Mason, 12, of Middletown, NJ, died on July 23, 2013 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. She was born in Edison and lived in Middletown for the last 5 years. Lexi was a 7th grade student at Thompson Middle School in Middletown. She was on the St. Mary's soccer team and played softball with the Middletown Youth Athletic Association. Lexi loved to dance, she attended dancing school at Emotions in Motion Dance Studio in Middletown. She had a contagious smile, many friends including her best friend Jamie. She just completed 6th grade with high honors. Her love of learning and passion for all that she did was evident to everyone knew her. She loved being a big sister to Brianna and Jessica..as well as the oldest cousin to Jacob, Josh, Kiera, Tara, Julia, Alyssa, and Nicole.
Surviving are her parents, Robert and Denise Mason; 2 sisters, Brianna and Jessica Mason; grandfather, Anthony Corsaro; grandparents, Robert and Dianne Mason; uncles and aunts, Christopher and Ellyn Corsaro; Frank and Joanne Mason; aunt Donna Mason Karlis and Michael Karlis and uncle Dan Mason; as well as her great-grandmother, Shirley Mason; and lots of cousins.
Alexis was preceded in death by her grandmother, Janice Corsaro.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7:30 to 9 pm at St Catharine's Church, 108 Middletown Rd., Holmdel. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. Catharine's Church. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Hello, my name is Diane Lynch and I live in Lincroft. I am a school nurse, now very active with Janet's Law, and young children who potentially may suffer cardiac emergencies. I am also a member of the Lincroft FAS. That aside, I want you to know I think about and pray for you and your daughter, though I never met any of you. You have my heart. I often snow shoe at Sunnyside Park and have used your "memory" bench to get my gear on. I like to think your daughter's spirit is there as I take in the beauty of the park. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Denise, Rob, Brianna and Jessica, We are so heartbroken for you and devastated by the tragic loss of beautiful Lexi. She was a wonderful friend to Lanie and also made an awesome impression on all of us. We feel so blessed to have known her. She will forever be in our hearts and memories. You are such loving and caring parents and your girls, the sweetest daughters and loving sisters to one another. To Miss Denise, Mr. Rob, Brianna and Jessica,
Even though I only got to see Lexi at the shore, I considered her a great friend and role model. I looked forward to hanging out with Lexi on LBI every year. I have so many awesome memories with Lexi from over the years. Thank you for bringing her to LBI so I had the chance to know and love her. She was my best beach friend. The waves will never be the same without her. I will miss her forever and she will always be in my heart. I am praying for all of you everyday. I love you.

To the family and friends of Alexis, I met your beautiful little girl for the first time the other day. I stopped by to buy a bracelet from her. She told me she made them herself and that the money she was raising was going to cancer research. I told my Dad I'd always look at this bracelet and think of your adorable little girl with the beautiful smile and pretty hair. I was so saddened to hear that she passed away just hours later. I will cherish this bracelet always. I live around the corner from you and just met your little girl the other day. I thought she looked like a little angel and now she is one in heaven. Today was one of the hardest things I've had to do as I saw you laying there lifeless at the church. I have known you from the day you were born and remember watching you as an infant, going to your birthdays at the house in Edison, fun in the basement in Edison and then the move to Middletown. Helped create the great backyard with your Dad that you enjoyed so much! You always held a special place in my heart and always will. You were taken from us all too soon and it is not fair but I know you will be in a better place watching over all of us. Please watch over your Mom/Dad and sisters plus pop-pop Tony. Life won't be the same and no family should have to live through this. Saturday will be another tough day and we will look to your beautiful smile to give us comfort and strength. Godspeed.

To the family of Alexis, I'm so sorry for your loss. I met your little girl the other day when I was on my way to work with my Dad. She was selling bracelets to raise money for cancer research and I stopped by to buy one. She told me she made it herself. I was shocked to hear that she had passed just a few hours later. Now, every time I wear this bracelet your little girl made, I will think of her. She looked like a little angel to me and now she is one.
