Alexis Montanez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 7, 2019.
Alexis A. Montanez passed away suddenly on September 7, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Erica (nee Coss); loving father of Alexier, Diomany and Jayden; stepfather of David Garcia; son of Antonio and Carmen Montanez; brother of Luis and Javier (Christina); grandson of Juana Pagan; uncle of Mya and Javi Montanez. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins. There isn't just one word to describe Alex but if we had to pick one he was a humanitarian. He loved helping people, from selflessly donating his time to help anyone in need as well as being a kind and considerate officer. He was generous to many social causes and believed in the greater good to the community he selflessly served to protect everyday in Philadelphia. He was devoted to his city, he loved the Eagles to the Flyers. He was a prankster with all of his family and friends. His personality and smile  lit up the room which brought smiles and laughter to everyone he touched. His strong Catholic beliefs and family upbringing made him a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother and friend to us all. We will never forget him. May he Rest In Peace always.  Relatives and friends are invited to share in Alex's Life Celebration, Thursday evening, September 12, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at John F. Givnish of Academy Rd., 10975 Academy Rd. Phila, PA 19154 and Friday, September 13, 2019 starting 9:00 AM at Visitation BVM, 2625 B. Street, Phila, PA 19125 followed by his funeral mass 11:00 AM. Interment Greenmount Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to F.O.P. Lodge 5 Survivors Fund, 11630 Caroline Rd., Phila, PA 19154 would be appreciated by his family. With everything I read about you, means that you did walked in a Saint Road! God is happy to have you with him! I am sorry that we didn't be connected, however, sometimes I was thinking about you when you was little! Always happy and friendly! Once the news arrived to me, i put you in Gods hands. I prayed for your family and will continue doing prayers for the strength they all need because you, Alex, are in the heaven! My deepest condolences,

My sincerest condolences. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Alex was an exemplary man who was always kind and considerate. I am still in disbelief that we have lost such a wonderful human being in such a sudden and tragic way. I can't even imagine the pain you must be experiencing. I pray that you somehow find a way for the pain to be lessened and peace in your heart. If your family needs anything at all, please dont hesitate to contact me.
