I am truly sad to hear this news. Al has always been a ray of sunshine. I last saw her at my mother's funeral in January. She always had an amazing aura around her and felt her warm presence. She will be truly missed. My sincere condolences to the Powell family.

To the Powell Family
I am sending my condolences. My grandmother use to take care if Rodney and Trina (Laura Williams). I would see Ms. Alex from time to time around town, and her smile would always make my day. Be strong and know that she is at peace,
Sincerely, Dale Garvin

So sorry to hear of ALs passing. We met at the Apple Users group back in the late 1980s later named TRAUG. We were both new to computing and needed help with the new technology. We were Apple II users and the group eventually evolved and moved to the Apple Macintosh line. The new Macs required new software and new training as the world of computing was changing very fast back then. If you did not keep up, you could be left behind. Al was voted in as treasurer of the group and attended most meetings and collected dues. The group had its core of experts and a group of regulars and a newbies Al made friends with all. We never left a meeting without some new knowledge to make computing easier. As time passed and computing became more user friendly the next generation did not need the resources of the TRAUG. I would see Al at Home Depot, Lowes, or the Habitat Restore. We would chat about the old days, our families , and grandchildren. I am fortunate to have called Al a friend for over thirty years. I will miss her as I am sure all who knew her will.

I worked w/ AL at RMMS and have enjoyed running into her at various events over the past few years. She always greeted me with a warm hug and a beautiful smile. I loved her voice, and still remember her announcements on the PA system at school. I was always touched by her continuing support of our school and her commitment to education in the community. What a treasure she was! Please accept my condolences on her passing.

Al was a wonderful person with a big heart. It was about 5 or 6 months ago that I was getting gas at BJ's when I heard a voice from the car behind me call out my name. I knew right away it was Al, even though it had been many years since we had worked for Rob Simmons together. She gave me a big hug and it was great to see her again. She will be missed. My wife Lisa and I send our deepest condolences to Al and the rest of the family.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends, I know she will be missed dearly. She was always warm and friendly the times I would she her at my work. A kind, caring and giving person to the people she came in contact with. The Havens will be a bit brighter with her presents.

Al, as she was fondly always called, would greet me with a loving and infectious smile whenever I would run into her. She would always ask how I was doing and if my granddaughter was still at RMMS. When my mother-in-law was still alive one of her frequent questions would always be, "how is Mother Tobey doing". I pray the love of friends and family will carry you through your grief.

Al was such a special lady and a staunch supporter of RMMS. We loved her. Sometimes in life people cross our paths who leave hefty footprints on our hearts. Al was such a person. Every time I saw her, she beamed her contagious smile and opened her arms. My heartfelt condolences go to all her family. I am so sad not to get to see her again. She will live on in my heart.

Al was a beautiful person, a true blue friend and co-worker. She was well casted for her job with US Congressman Rob Simmons because she loved helping people. She was insightful and attentive to everyone in need. She could hear their unspoken words! God speed, Al. The Simmons Team loves you.
