May I,albeit belatedly, send belated condolences and all sympathy to the family of Alfred J. Casey (RIP)?
I never, in British Army service, fired a shot in anger but my maternal grandfather, a 7th Armoured Brigade 'Desert Rat', very much did, serving in North Africa ,Italy , France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.
He fired in me a lifelong interest in and prompted my decades of research into many aspects of the Second World War.
One of these projects includes a search for information about and summer - of -1944 Company and Battalion HQs' documents and photographs concerning Alfred J Casey's unit, the 631st Ordinance and Ammunition Company, especially its arrival on Utah Beach and its service - especially concerning its main ammunition depot - in the Utah Beach Rear Area before, during and after mid - July 1944.
Lastly, are Alfred's family aware of any surviving 631 st Company veterans who might be willing to help me?
I apologise if in the aftermath of their loss, this query seems opportunistic but the Obituary Notice contains interesting information and I hope that Alfred's family can help me.
With renewed sympathies.

Christine, to you and all of your family, I offer my condolences. Your father sounds like an amazing man; the sort anyone would be proud to call a friend. I wish you well in this time of loss.
