JARVIS - Alfred Patrick May 17, 1920 - October 16, 2009 A man known for his love of family, travel, cars and golf. Perfectly dressed, so handsome and charming, a great head of hair! Born Mullingar, Ireland. Moved to England where he married his first wife Isobell and where the first 4 of the 7 Jarvis children were born. Immigrated to Canada in 1954 and joined the Canadian Armed Forces. Served overseas in Africa, Cypress and Germany. Instructor in the workshop of the Chemical Engineering Department of UBC from 1970 until his retirement in 1985. Predeceased by wife, Isobell in 1988. Missed by his 2nd wife Rosemary, his children (and grandchildren); Patrick and Angel Jarvis (Sean and Leah, great-grandchildren Ryan and Aiden), Isabel Kerr (Sam), Cal and Jenny Jarvis (Isabel and Erin), Peter Jarvis (Clayton), Shelagh Park (Evan), Colleen and Fred Brome (Marshall, Spencer, Harrison), Kathleen Jarvis (Colleen and Taylor). Memorial Service Saturday, October 24th. Minoru Chapel in the Park. 6540 Gilbert Rd., Richmond. Service starts at 4:00. Reception to follow.View All Photos

In loving memory of one of nature's true gentlemen and a very good friend. He will always be remembered by his cousins here in Ireland. I wish to offer our deepest sympathy to his wife and family at this sad time.
