Alfred Sils Obituary

Alfred Sils passed away at home in Los Angeles on July 6, 2025. Alfred was born in 1941 in Brooklyn, New York. He was a proud graduate of Queens College (1962) and SUNY-Downstate Medical School (1966), and he served as an officer in the US Army from 1967-1970. After completing his residency at LA County-USC Medical Center, Alfred practiced radiology in Tarzana for 30 years. He was also an accomplished woodworker, with work sold in galleries across the country as well as gracing the homes of his family and friends. He loved Lakers and Clippers basketball, the LA Opera, and the California coast. Above all, he loved his family and friends, who will miss him deeply. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Rose. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Carol, his children Evan and Laura, his grandchildren Isaac, Oona and Benjamin, and his sister Carole. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the ACLU.
