I lived above the Tortorelli family in Heidelberg when Brian was just a newborn. Mrs. Tortorelli paid me a dollar (when the going rate was only fifty cents) for one hour after school every day when she would go out back and drink coffee on the porch. Four little boys were quite a handful! She remained my mom's best friend until my mom passed away and the Tortorellis were always a part of my life. I feel so fortunate that only last year I got to see them both when I was near them one afternoon while on a cruise with my sister. I'm so sorry to hear of their passing. Their devotion to one another and their family was evident to everyone who met them. I will miss them and am glad they are together again.

Hi Brian. I just want to tell you and your brothers how sorry I am for the loss of your mom and your dad. I just heard that you've lost both of them this year. Sending you love and strength. Love, Jane

I am proudly one of Al's first cousins. Followed him to Mt. St. Michael and Manhattan College. I was ten years old when he married Noel but have distinct memory of the ceremony and the playing of "The First Noel". Well lived life, Al! Rest in peace.

I am AL's first cousin and 9 years his junior. I remember being at his home with his sisters during one of his graduation ceremonies. Everyone was very excited that he had received a scholarship. It is a hazy memory so I am not sure which graduation ceremony it was. I also remember being at his wedding. May he and Noel rest in peace. Margaret Tortorelli Giacoponello

His was my brother the oldest of the seven of us. I am the youngest. He was the only son, and we all loved having an older brother.. Al and Noel were married when I was 7. They were there for for all of our wedding, and I will miss them so much. RiP

We (his sisters,) called him Alley oop!! When we were growing up.
Always heard him coming because he whistled a lot!!
Always chewed every bite ... 300 times: last one to finish every meal.
Best big brother ever!!! And a wonderful son to my parents.

Singing in the HNJ Choir is how I met Al. The last time I saw him outside of church was at the VFW. Funny sense of humor and nice family.
