TREMBLAY _ Alfred (Freddie) Ronald Joseph, born January 9th, 1938, in Vancouver, BC died peacefully of a brain tumor on February 14, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (nee McFeely); children Ronald (Ruth), Annette (Gord), and Steve (Dionne); grandchildren, Kevin, Graeme, Jeffrey, Lincoln, Rachel, Kyle, Grant, Maya, Emma; sister Blanche and brothers Art and George (Sally) and predeceased by brother Bernie (Eileen). Fred worked at 4th and MacDonald Chevron from 1954-1981 with his dad, brothers, sons and nephews; then at 16th and MacDonald Chevron from 1981 to 1995, with Sandra, Annette, Steve and Ronald; cofounding The Garage in 1984 at MacDonald and Alamien. He has been very active in the automotive business, boating and old car communities; was known for his knowledge of (well almost) everything and his ability to fix (well almost) everything. He is widely loved and respected by many; especially for his fries, shakes and waffles. Fred, a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, mentor, artist, carver, potter, trickster, prankster, magician, friend, boss, leader, teacher, advisor, craftsman, the ultimate do-it-yourselfer, lover of life and people, collector, pack-rat, time-manager and comedian. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St James Hospice, 650 North Penticton Street, Vancouver, BC, V5K 3L8. Fred's Celebration of Life will be at 6:00 PM on Saturday, February 19th at the Masonic Hall, 1495 West 8th Avenue, Vancouver, followed by dinner at 7:30.
