Alfred J. Weber CLIFTON SPRINGS - Alfred J. Weber, age 91, died peacefully on Saturday Dec. 1, 2012, at Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic. There will be no calling hours. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, December 8, at 10 a.m. at Clifton Springs United Methodist Church. Private burial will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Niagara Falls, NY. It is requested that memorial donations be made to the House of John, 14 Spring St., Clifton Springs, NY 14432. Mr. Weber was born on Nov. 15, 1921, in Scranton, Pa. and was the son of the late Alfred and Rose Mies Weber. He grew up in Scranton and was a Willow Indian. Willow Indians were friends that grew up on Willow Street and played baseball, basketball and football together. Many of them went on to serve in World War II. Mr. Weber was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He moved from Scranton to Buffalo, N.Y. to work for Bell Aerosystems. He then went to work for Sierra Research as a supervisor of fabrications. With metal fabrication as his specialty. he was hired and was the manager of manufacturing for Rotary Company in Buffalo and retired from there as well. While living in Niagara Falls, Mr. Weber was active in coaching youth sports. Mr. Weber enjoyed the handicapping of horse racing and was an avid golfer. He has lived in Clifton Springs for the past 24 years. He is survived by his children Alfred J. (Paige) Weber Jr. of Reston, Va., Kathryn Murdoch of Colorado, Jack (Vicki) Weber of Clifton Springs and Joanne (Jim) Schul of Gilroy, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan E. Weber. Funeral arrangements have been made with Cheney Funeral Home. Phelps.

Mr Weber used to coach basketball to a bunch of High School kids on Friday nights at the old 66th St school. I always enjoyed that. Sad that I never got a chance to thank him.
