Uncle Algie,

I remember when Dad, Buddie Bond, and Mom, Gloria Bond, introduced you to us. Instantly we bonded and became family...who would of figured...

We will miss your jokes and cutting edge humor (lol). It was just summer before last when Samad, the Twins and I came to visit after some time. We are very happy that we had that special time together. Halehma Naseer (Toni)

Mr. Oldham was my elementary math teacher at Linden Elementary School. I recall the first day I sat in his class. He loudly did the roll call. I yelled "HERE" when he came to my name, Lela Giger. He looked at me, smiled and said "One of the Gigers, huh? I taught all your brothers and sisters. They were good kids. I expect you will be too". He was stern but fair. A great man. May he rest in peace.

Mr. Oldham was my elementary math teacher at Linden Elementary school. He was a very nice person and loved to talk about his family when he was growing up. He had an expression that I used to this day. If someone enters a room and does not speak, he would say "when two pigs pass each other in the barnyard they at least grunt. We as humans should be able to do at least that!"

His family has my deepest sympathy and may he rest in peace after a job well done.

To the Oldham Family, I gained so much having knowing Mr. Oldham. He was my first mentor. I remember my first day at Riley. Mr Oldham saw me walking in the door for the first time. He said " hello Mr. Herron". I was very surprised he knew who I was. I can't tell you how many times he came to my aid. I am missing him so much. May the lord guide you through the coming days.

The Oldham Family,
As Christians we know that Mr. Oldham is in a better place without pain or hurt. As a neophyte my fondest memories are of Mr. Oldham calling me Mrs. Taylor. I was a nobody and I stood in the presence of greatness. I always thought he was a class act and truly worthy of all the praises heap up on him. Mr. Oldham may now sit at the right hand of our Father. Bryan, Marcia and Sidney I love you.

Mr. Oldham was the greatest of the great men of Linden Elementary School. The others were Mr. Myers, Mr. Elum, Mr. White and Mr. MacDougal. I will eternally respect the foundation laid by the role models of educators in my life. Mr. Oldham sowed seed of success in my life in the 4th,5th,& 6th grades,as a track coach, and throughout his tenure with Summer Park and recreation. “Give your soul to God and your behind to me” and that was long before I became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi. I have and will always treasure the presence of Mr. Oldham in my life. In spirit I shall be your pallbearer, it is my honor. My sincerest condolences to the Oldham family.

Mr.Oldham was a great influence to me and countless others. He touched and inspired our lives in such a way that his inspiration will live on for generations yet unborn. The best lessons I learned form Mr. Oldham wasn't in a textbook but rather from the wisdom he imparted. The world is a better place because of his loving kindness. A place where he encouraged us to have hopes and dreams. Thank you Mrs.Oldham , Bryan and Roslynn for sharing him with us ; from Linden to Riley he was and will forever remain an institution of wisdom and knowledge.

I first met Mr. Oldham while attending Oliver Elementary School and then our paths crossed again while attending Riley High School. Some people you just never forget. No matter hold old you get or what life takes you through. Mr. Oldham was one of those people. He will always be remembered as one of my most admired educators. I can still recall him saying with that stern authoritative voice " Harris what are you doing out of class". It's because of him and other dedicated professionals that I made it through. To his family I extend my deepest sympathy.

Met him the summer of 61.(Linden Playground) Always told me two things: the truth, and what was right.Pushed me with a strong hand and pulled me with a smile. Never had him in school, but he taught me a lot. Great example of a human being, educator and of a man. Enjoyed he and Mrs. Oldhams visits to Atlanta over the years. Had the pleasure of taking him to a Bird Celtics/ Hawks game in the 80's. You knew that Mr.Oldham picked a lot of people, but you still felt special, to be picked by him. What a legacy, to be a gentle thought, and the smile on so many faces. Mr Olsham will live forever!
Gods continued blessings to Mrs Oldham and family.

I had the pleasure of having Mr. Oldham as a principal at both Oliver and Riley High School. He was such a wonderful man. When he retired, the South Bend School Corporation lost a great asset.

Mr. Oldham was ALWAYS fair and caring. It didn't matter if you were a troubled student, a straight A student, black, white, male, female, he treated everyone with respect and never demeaned anyone. Even if the situation wasn't the best, you never saw him lose his cool.

He is a person that will be impossible to forget. I have so many fond memories of the 6 or 7 years I was under his guidance. I hope his family can find peace in knowing that he was a well loved man that will be missed by thousands of people. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

One of the most wonderful human beings I have ever met. I was forunate to have Mr. Oldham as a pricipal at both Oliver and Riley High school. He was always fair and friendly. there were many times that I wanted to get in contact with him and later found out that he was living in Indianapolis. If every person that has held his positions in the education field could have 1/2 the integrity that he had, the world would be a much better place. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I hope you can find peace in knowing that Mr. Oldham was respected and loved my many, many people.

I had the priveledge of attending Riley High School for Mr. Oldham's last two years. He reinforced how important it is to look for the good in all people, and to judge the character of a person, rather than the outward appearance. He was an amazing role model to us all, and left this world a much better place. I am forever a changed person because of Mr. Oldham. Thank you Mr. Oldham, Rest in Peace, may you forever have peace and happiness in your eternal journey.
