My vocabulary to describe Ali will not suffice. I still cannot comprehend that Dr. Ali Ozluk has left us. Ali was such an amazing human being and a towering intellectual. He was the manifestation of all the good qualities in one soul, a soul who was one of the rare creations of God. As soon as you shake his hand, your fascination with this beautiful, peaceful, humble soul starts. You can't get enough of having been impressed by his personality. He explains solutions to complex mathematical functions cheerfully, with such class, patience, and down-to-earth character. I and my close family have all known Ali from Ann Arbour, Michigan years in 1970's. My fondest memories of casual meetings with Ali over coffee are still alive today after several decades. This is a giant loss to the science of mathematics and well beyond. Without him, my toughts about life will not be the same. R.I.P. dear brother. God bless your soul to the eternity.

Ali Ozluk was a wonderful friend and may he rest in eternal peace and love. We met soon after his arrival at the University of Maine and we became good friends right away. He helped me quite a bit in my efforts to learn Turkish language, and was unfailingly patient, kind, and thoughtful in his helpfulness.

He was my grad school buddy and I mean buddy. It just makes me sad that we did not keep in touch as we should have.. We had so many fun memories. We, by chance found out that we were born within 10 days in the same city. Small world.. He was kind, gentle and so damn smart.. Rest in peace good friend..

I never met him. Yet I had the privilege to 'talk' with him and learn about how beautifully he looked at things and expressed them...May his soul be blessed! And rest in peace... K.B

Ali was one of my closest friends. We had wonderful memories while we were graduate students and apartment mates in Ann Arbor and later on in life. He was a wonderful person with a good sense of humor and love for mathematics and for a friendly discussion just about every thing. He will be missed very much.

He was one of the most genuine teachers I have ever had. He loved what he taught and did not mind spending time explaining problems to his students when they needed help. He will be missed not only as a professor, but as a good person.

One of the saddest news I received in my life. Ali was a great teacher and a great friend. I am very happy that our paths intersected. Dirichlet L-functions, PNT, the Circle Method, Vinogradov, Brun, Rodney Dangerfield, things that I learned from Ali. So many memories to share, but not enough room to share. My condolences go to his family and to his friends. He will not be forgotten.

Without a doubt, Ali was one of the most wonderful people I have known in my life. It was a great privilege befriending him during my graduate studies at the University of Michigan.

His passing is a great loss to the University of Maine and the world of Mathematics. May he be confirmed in his journey to the infinite dimensions. Tanri ruhunu korusun.

It ws a shock to learn the passing away of Ali Ozluk. Now he can read God's book. Let his soul rest in peace.
My condolences go to his family and to the members of the mathematics department of the University of Maine at Orono, his second family.

I am very sad to hear of the passing of our good friend, Ali. He was our Best Man at our wedding in 1999 and remained a great friend to us; even after we moved out of the Bangor, Maine area to the North Shore of Massachusetts. We periodically met in the Portland, Maine area for a weekend lunch and life updates. He will be missed dearly.
