Alice Abel Obituary
Ann is survived by her brothers Bill (Betsy) and George (Charlene) Abel, sister Carol Gray, and brother-in-law Chris Robertson; children Kurt, Jon (Pamela), Sara (Tom) and Tom Breyfogle and several beloved grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sister Jacqueline Abel and brother-in-law Bernie Gray.
Ann graduated from Bridgeport Township high school in 1956, attended the University of Illinois and received her bachelor degrees from Antioch College in Yellow Springs, OH. Much of her life Ann worked in higher education administration in Illinois, Oregon and North Carolina.
Ann enjoyed being with family and friends, walks in her neighborhood, watching sports, was an avid reader and loved a competitive game of Uno.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to honor Ann's life. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in Ann's name to the American Heart Association (heart.org).
She will be greatly missed.

Pretty sure Mrs Abel was my 2nd grade teacher at Empire School in Freeport Illinois in about 1964. To this day she is my all time favorite teacher. Which is saying a lot as I went to college. Then got my masters degree then law school.So that's 22 years of school and she was my most memorable and my favorite teacher. May her family continue to heal.
