Alice Z. Blittersdorf

Alice Blittersdorf, age 74, of West Grove, passed away on Wednesday, June 21 at her home. She was the wife of William T. Blittersdorf with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. Born in Yorklyn, DE, she was the daughter of the late Clifford H. and Elva Underwood Zell. Since 1962, Alice and her husband have owned and operated Blittersdorf Arco and Blittersdorf Towing where she was a bookkeeper for 40 years until her retirement in 2002. She was a member of Avon Grove Junior Women�s Club; Playground Mother�s Auxiliary and she volunteered for the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed the beach, snowmobiling, gardening, traveling and being with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, W. Thomas Blittersdorf, III and his wife, Erica of Toughkenamon, PA; two daughters, Dyann L. Paxson and her husband, Tim of Kirkwood, PA; and Laurie A. Horack and her husband, Bill of Reinholds, PA; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers, Clifford, James and Robert Zell. Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 26, 2006 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square, PA.
