Aunt Alice was not the auntie who most looked like my mother (that would be Helen), but the one who welcomed us with open arms. She was also a very early example of dedication, loyalty, and the rewards of hard work. We choose the First Nation's idea of heaven; and know our Mom, Alice and Bob, and Albert are laughing together at the camp fire with their beloved parents. No pain, no sorrow, no work. Her memory will always be honoured in our house.
We are very sorry for the family's loss. Sincerely, Susan, Jody, Lisa MacLeod

Peggy, I am so saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. Every time I drive by the Van Winkle, it brings back fond memories of my childhood days I was lucky to have spent around the hotel with you and your family. As she is remembered, I hope you find some comfort in the memories and stories you will hear about from those whose lives your mother has left an imprint on. My sincerest condolences to you and the entire Caine clan.
