Alice E. (Moore) Dahart, 92, formerly of Barre, MA, died peacefully Tuesday morning, July 13, 2010, after a long illness. Alice was born Barre March, 14, 1918, a daughter of the late Henry A. and Sarah E. (Story) Moore, and lived in Barre most of her life. Her beloved husband Edgar E. Dahart died in 1974. Alice worked for the former Barre Wool Company for over 20 years. She also worked for the Heywood Credit Union, former Eastwood Pines Nursing Home, and prior to her retirement at the age of 70 she worked for First Safety Fund. Alice was a 70 year member of the Barre Congregational Church in Barre. She was a member of the Women's fellowship at the church. In her free time Alice in enjoyed taking trips to the beach, especially Cape Cod. Alice will be sadly missed by two daughters; Sylvia Mennard of Barre, and Jean Saari of Gardner, one son; Reid Dahart and his wife Peggy of New Bern, NC, one sister; Dorothy Doiron of East Hartford, CT, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Alice was predeceased by one sister; Emma Brown, one step brother; Frederick Moore Sr, and one step-sister; Cora Brown. Relatives and friends are planning to honor and celebrate Alice's life by gathering in the Barre Congregational Church, 30 Park St., Barre MA, 01005 on Friday August 13, 2010 at 11AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Alice's memory may be made to the Barre Congregational Church Organ Restoration Fund, P.O. Box 936, Barre, MA 01005, or to the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Activities Fund; 32 Hospital Hill Rd, Gardner, Ma 01440.
