Dear friend. Life-changing role model. Singular. I met Alice at St. Paul's church in 1998 when I moved to Shelton, Connecticut with two young children to care for my mother. It was the most tumultuous time of my life: Learning the ropes of single-parenthood, caring for my own parent, while simultaneously navigating my own divorce and my mother's divorce (as her conservator). Now most of the trauma of those years are a faded blur. In its place is a vivid memory of Alice. Her investment of time to me was invaluable. The love, support, and encouragement I received from God, through her and her friends at St. Paul's church, made it possible to rebuild my life. I miss her. However, what she unselfishly gave me, I gratefully will carry forever.

We are sorry to hear of Alice's passing. Alice was a wonderful neighbor and so nice to share a conversation with. She was always so upbeat and smiling. We will miss seeing her on her stroll up Mary's Lane.
