Time has gone by so quickly, it seems that you were here just a few days ago. I looked forward to summers at Babine because Alice would be there at the cabin. We shared wine, laughter and love. Alice was a great person and I miss her dearly. I am so glad for all of the fun we had, the mock wedding, the wedding, the summer wind up parties, and your birthday. Your zest for life impacted mine. Hardly a day goes by that I don't think of you. Always in my thoughts, always in my heart.

We thought of you today,
But that is nothing new.
We thought of you yesterday
And will tomorrow, too.

We think of you in silence
And make no outward show.
For what it meant to lose you
Only those who love you know.

Remembering you is easy,
We do it everyday.
It's the heartache of losing you
That will never go away.

If Roses grow in Heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me
Place them in my Mother's arms
And tell her they're from me
Tell her I love her and miss her
And when she turns to smile
Place a kiss upon her cheek
And hold her for awhile
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day
But there's an ache within my heart
Because I am missing her today...

I heard she was joking with the doctors during the operation. We can be sure she is bringing a lot of laughter to her new abode.

I came from an unusually quiet home and loved the noise and excitement of the Kipp home. I remember staying up watching late movies and Alice making French fries for us to eat.

I remember going with her to Kilshaw's Auction when I was newly married. I was interested in a sewing machine. She kept elbowing me and I put my hand up hesitantly. I bought it for $35.00 - only to discover when I got home - IT HAD NO MOTOR!!!

She was the most influential person in my life. When my mother was not able to look after me, she took me into her home - even though she had 5 kids of her own. She came to all the school functions for me when my mom had to work. When I was sick at school, I went to her home.

They say you carry those lost - forever in your heart. Well, there is a LARGE piece of my heart reserved for her.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome you.""

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......""My day was not in vain.""
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I met Alice as a patient in the Doctor's office that I work in. She was always a positive and cheerful person who would instantly light up the room when she came in and she always spoiled us with candies even when she was not feeling well. Alice recently transferred to another doctor and I was saddened to read of her passing in the paper. I would like to extend my thoughts and best wishes to the family. May you find some comfort in your memories.

I was so shocked to hear that Alice had passed away because she was always so full of life and laughter. She always had a smile, never had a bad word to say about anyone, was a wonderful wife to my father and a wonderful mother to her children. She was a woman of wisdom and wit and she always made me laugh!! I will miss her very much and my condolences go to her children who I know are heartbroken at losing her.

I am sorry for the loss of your dearest Mother. Alice was always so good to us. We have great memories of her laugh and her teasing. No one could tell a joke like Alice! I can see her with her glass of wine and driving her little VW.
Thank you for sharing your Mom with us.

Don't think of her as gone away-
Her journey's just begun,
Life holds so many facets-
This earth is only one.

Just think of her as resting
From the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years.

Think how she must be wishing
That we could know today
How nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away.

And Think of her as living
In the hearts of those she touched..
For nothing loved is ever lost-
And she was loved so much.

My thoughts are with you all during this very sad time.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
