Alice Roy

Alice M. (Constantine) Roy, 82, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, August 17, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life at Bear Mountain at West Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on July 7, 1938, a daughter of the late Anthony J. and Rose A. (Suprenant) Constantine. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Precious Blood High School in Holyoke and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. Alice was employed for 23 years at Spalding Sports Worldwide in Chicopee and retired in 1994. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. During her leisure time, she enjoyed bowling, camping and traveling with the American Bosch Travel Club. Alice was predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate, Roger L. Roy who was Called Home on July 23, 2010. They were married on October 13, 1956 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 53 years of happiness together. She leaves her five loving children, Raymond J. Roy and his wife, Sheila, of Chicopee, Jeanne M. Goncalves and her husband, Richard, of Reading, PA, Gerald F. Roy and his wife, Lisa, of Springfield, Antoinette M. Kiely and her husband, Gerard, of Davenport, FL and Diane M. Daniels and her husband, Steven, of Clermont, FL; her ten cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Vincelette and her husband, Paul, Louis Goncalves and his wife, Kiana, Karen Champagne and her husband, Tony, Justin Roy and his wife, Arelis, Jordan Roy and his wife, Jasmin, Jason Roy, Nicholas Daniels and his wife, Danielle, Mitchell Daniels and his fiancée, Victoria Bonazoli, Allison Daniels and her wife, Julia Carlaw, and Rebecca Daniels; her eight cherished great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Paul Jr. and Alexis Vincelette, Madison and Norah Goncalves, Ruby and Kairo Roy, and Eveleigh Daniels; her two dear brothers, Richard J. Constantine and his wife, Carol, and Manuel J. Constantine and his wife, Dolly; her four dear sisters, Pauline M. Roy and her husband, Roland, Christine J. Constantine and her partner, Ronald Krzeminski, Beatrice M. Riel and her husband, Donald, and Theresa M. LaBarge and her husband, George; her two dear sisters-in-law, Sandra Constantine and Irene Moreau and her husband, Joseph; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended members of the Roy and Constantine families and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her two dear brothers, Hervey and Anthony Constantine; and her dear sister, Catherine Touchette and her husband, Henry. Relative and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (please note that social distancing must be observed, masks are required and capacity is limited at the Church per state guidelines). Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
