REV. ALICIA MARTINEZ Rev. Alicia Martinez, at the age of 64, died peacefully in her home after a valiant battle against cancer. Alicia was born on June 10, 1950 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, the daughter of Eusebio and Ester Gloria. Alicia was an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God and served as co-pastor at Templo Ebenezer in Weslaco, Texas for the last 36 years alongside her husband and Senior Pastor Rev. Rosalio Martinez. They previously served the same roles at Templo Elim in Lamesa, TX for 5 years from 1974 to 1979 after having graduated from Magidel Bible Institute in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She was also the host of her own Christian radio program "Dios Habla a la Familia" heard weekly through Radio Vida in South Texas and Northern Mexico. In addition to raising 5 children, she was the "spiritual mother" of hundreds, perhaps thousands more. Much in the style of the Christ that she preached, she spent her life serving family, friends, and the community with great love, grace, and selflessness. Alicia is survived by her sisters, Gracia Soto, Guadalupe Perez, Raquel Garcia, Justina Coronado, her husband, Rosalio Martinez, her five children, Abraham, Sarai, Isaac, Jacob, and Rosalio Jr. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and numerous loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at Templo Ebenezer, 209 E Sugar Cane Dr. in Weslaco on Thursday, April 23rd, viewing from 5 to 7 PM followed by a Celebration of Life worship service at 7PM, and on Friday, April 24th, Memorial Service at 10 AM with burial service to follow at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, 6705 FM 88 in Weslaco, Texas. Pallbearers will be Abraham Martinez, Isaac Martinez, Jacob Martinez, Chali Martinez, Octavio Luna & Manuel Covarrubias, Jr. Arrangements are under the direction of Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco, Inc., 2602 N.
