I just learned of Mrs. Martinez passing today and its as hard for me as it had been yesterday, these are news to me. I'm so sorry I didn't know before and didn't have the opportunity to attend her services. Mrs. Martinez was the kindest person I knew. Always cared about her students and was not selfish. I was a student of hers at Weslaco High but I consider her my friend and I know she would feel the same. The world has lost one of the most beautiful being there was. Im sure God needed her more. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow. If there is anything I can do for you at this time please let me know.

Alida was a sweet student. I still remember her smiles and her laughter from Donna. She was always ready to help everyone. May the Lord bless and comfort her family.

My prayers are with the family of Mrs. Martinez. She was my counselor at WHS; she helped me with so much through high school and was always there when I needed any kind of help. Even when they changed me to a different counselor, I still went to see her. She is one of the reasons why I am where I am today, in my junior year of college at The University of Texas at Austin. She will truly be missed. RIP Mrs. Martinez.

I am saddened to learn of Alida’s passing. Those of us that grew up and went to school Alida knew her as a kind, compassionate person that was always there to lend an ear or make herself available to help with any task. Although we lost touch over these years as we went on with our lives, I can tell she stayed the same with the new people that came into her life. To her husband Michael and his family, my deepest condolences. Please be assured she touched so many. And to Ms. (Tencha) Martinez and the rest of the Martinez and Avila families: Alida was an example of the good that comes from Donna. She was humble and worked hard at everything she did. She was typical of that old time Redskin sprit that lives in most of us that call Donna home.
God Bless from The Zollicoffer Family.

I had the priviledge of meeting Ms. Martinez as she was my son Braulio's counselor at WHS. You could see that she really cared for the success of her students. Our family would like to express our deepest sympathy in your time of grief. God Bless You.

When someone we love passes away,
We ache, but we go on;
Our dear departed would want us to heal,
After they are gone.
Grief is a normal way to mend
The anguish and pain in our hearts;
We need time to remember and time to mourn,
Before the recovery starts.
Let's draw together to recuperate,
As we go throught this period of sorrow;
Let's help each other, with tender care
To find a brighter tomorrow.
God Bless your family especially Ms. Martinez, Mr. Martinez, and Michael.
I will miss you dearly Ali and one day we will meet up again. Michael be strong and may the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and Ms. Martinez.

I'll Lend You a Little Time, a child of mine, he said. For you to love while she lives and mourn when she is dead. It may be six or seven years or twenty-two or three, But will you, till I call her back, take care of her for me? She'll bring her charms to gladden you, and shall her stay be brief, You'll have her lovely memories as solace for your grief. I cannot promise she will stay, since all from earth return. But there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn. I've looked the wide world over in my search for teachers true. And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes, I have selected you. Now will you give her all your love, nor think the labor vain, Nor hate me when I come to call, or take her back again? I fancied that I heard them say, Dear Lord, Thy will be done. For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run. We'll shelter her with tenderness, we'll love her while we may; And for the happiness we've known, will ever grateful stay. But shall the angels call for her much sooner than we planned, We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, And try to undrstand.
