How do I know Mambo? Well, she was this incredible women who loved my daughter and my daughter loved her. Day or night, her home had an open invitation for my Lindsey. She welcomed her with open arms, open ears, and a shoulder to lean on, in spite of the many other roles in Mambo´s life.
She was a special angel, whose influence and role model in Lindsey´s life, I will forever be grateful for.

Mambo was so much more than my friend´s grandmother. She was so much more than a wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter, etc.... She was EVERYONE´s Mambo. Her stoic strong presence was not to be deceiving of her compassion, generosity, patience, and her boundless sacrificial love. She was the epitome of GRACE and class. Her influence and the results of her relentless commitment to her family have far exceeded the reach of those biologically connected to her. While I can only speak in depth about my personal experience, I can say with 100000% confidence, than there are likely hundreds of people, if not more, that have been impacted in a hugely meaningful way by Mambo.
For me... Mambo was a pillar of stability when I needed it most, no matter how unstable the world around her was. She was a safe haven when I felt lost and confused. Her essence was unconditionally warm and inviting, when I felt like an outcast. We shared similar love languages- FOOD, back scratches, consistency, and the value of acting for the greater good. She got it. I got her. I could go on for days with Mambo stories, per the MANY years I spent raiding her fridge, running up and down the staircase in her home, jumping in and out of her van, traipsing through her front door in tears, laughter, anger, and joy... but, the point is, is that she played a pivotal role in my character and all around development as a human. She helped me set standards and a sense of integrity that I didn´t even know I would one day come to live by and value so much. Her light... her bright, glowing, warm light continued to shine upon me throughout my journey. Her light is and will continue to do so in ALL those who knew her. And the way it works, is that all of us are like conductors, allowing her energy to work through us, so that even those who didn´t know her personally, will be shined upon by HER!! That´s just the way energy and light work. I love that fact.
Mambo, I know you´re chillen with Abuelo, probably cooking, in sequins, with your red hair perfectly coiffed, all with an internal peace, ensuing your earthly life´s work. You did an excellent job at life... bravo
Love you forever and ever and ever
- Lindsey

To Kathy, Victor Daniel and the girls,
So many wonderful memories of spending a lot of time in your household and lives! Your mom made things so much fun...loved the bike trips to the top of the small hill to MacDonald´s on Armenia, the times we met for dinner and were entertained with their childhood stories , the wonderful special friendship her and my mom shared and her wonderful cooking!
She was a women of courage that loved deeply and served others...I have no doubt that when she entered Heaven God said, "Well done!" I love you all to Heaven and back!

Memories I have of Mombo...
-She would spend the day taking care of the Davis Island house in ironed shorts, a blouse and athletic sneakers.
-She could seem laser focused, almost stoic like, but one of the granddaughters would say something to make her crack, which would bring out an adorable smile leading to controlled laughter and a sparkle in her eye. She adored them.
-The way she folded the wrapper of a hamburger if we got a fast food treat.
-She kept the house impressively and impeccably clean, even with 4 young girls and their gaggle of friends running around.
-The large weekend sleepovers that she always allowed the girls to have.
-Her yellow cake and chocolate icing.
-When she raised her voice, it would never actually get loud, but you knew she meant business (for Victor Senior or one of the girls).
-The way she effortlessly assumed command when the girls needed her in their lives. She was an amazing woman and a strong force in her family´s life. She holds a special place in my heart and I look forward to celebrating her life in April.
Sending so much love to Mombo up above, as well as Victor, Kathy and the 4 girls.

To Kathy, Victor Daniel and the girls. I can´t tell you just how lucky I am to have been named after one of the most beautiful (inside and out) angel that walked among us. I admired Aline from very little and learned so much from her. They say one of the greatest accomplishments is to be able to remain calm in the chaos. She always remained so calm. This is not an easy task but she made it look so effortless. What a wonderful role model for all of you. I will keep her in my memory always. Love you all.
