Mark, Claudia, and all of the Skaggs family,

Every time Salt Lake CIty is mentioned, I think of Sam and Aline Skaggs. The first time I met them was in an elevator in France. They told me that the Oak Ridge Boys was their favorite group. They were so warm and personal, we became friends immediately. Over the next several years, we were called upon, many times, to come to Salt Lake City to sing for Aline's birthday. We moved in to their beautiful home and they treated us like we were family. I sat with Mr. Sam at one of the big birthday parties. He told me how he feel in love with Mrs. Aline. It was love at first sight. Then, just a few days before his passing, I went to see him at his home. Mrs. Aline showed us through the home and shared with us all of the history surrounding all of photos, furniture, and memories that filled the house. She was the perfect hostess. All of the Oak RIdge Boys loved her dearly. A short time later, we were invited to the graveside service on the ranch where Claudia invited us to say a few words, and then, we all sang "Amazing Grace". When Mr. Sam and Mrs. Aline left us, a huge empty space was left in my heart. I loved them like family. Those empty spaces can only be filled with the wonderful memories we all have to share. Heaven is a lot sweeter now!!!!!

I will always remember going with Susie to her home after a day of school at William Penn Elementary . Aileen had made some yummy cookies. Their home was so beautiful and warm. I am glad I was able to spend a little time with Susie at Evergreen Junior High in the school dance program. She was always gracious and kind. My dad was very proud to have worked with Ailene's deceased husband, Sam in the advertising and marketing of the Rite Aid Stores. There is one word that reflects Ailene's life and that is quality. I offer sincere condolences to the family. She was a gracious, loving mother and wife

My heartfelt condolences to the Skaggs family at the passing of their Matriarch. I worked for Mr. Skaggs for fifteen years and had great respect for him. I saw Mrs. skaggs from time to time but never had the honor of meeting her. However, the obituary speaks volumes of her good works, love for family and appreciation for the fine values in life.

My memory of the years I spent with the Skagg's organization remain the highlight of my career. I was fortunate to get to know Mark as a business associate and regard him as a good friend. I have often wished for the opportunity to visit with him, especially in recent years as he has grown older and I am now an old man. I hope life has treated him well and may he and his siblings be strengthened to cope with the loss of their dear Mother...

From The Oak Ridge Boys, our entire organization, and our families, we send love and prayers for all of the Skaggs family, extended family, and their many friends. Just knowing Mrs. Aline and Mr. Sam made all of the Oak Ridge Boys better men. Now, Mrs. Aline, you can be reunited with Mr. Sam, who loved you so dearly. I know he did, because he told me.
