Allan Ashbee Obituary

ASHBEE, Allan D. September 21, 1947 – October 17 2014 Allan died peacefully in his sleep at Lantzville, BC. He leaves behind his sister Maureen (Bob) and brother Ken (Cathy) along with nieces Jennifer Dunn, Anita Riggs, Tricia Ashbee and nephew Shea Ashbee. Allan was predeceased by his parents Douglas and Lilian. Allan followed in his father's footsteps, joining the RCMP and serviced in Alberta and BC, ending his career at the Colwood Detachment in 1994. He subsequently served as the Civilian Court Liaison Officer for the City of Langford before retiring to Lantzville where he enjoyed the golfers dream, living in his mobile home beside the Clubhouse at the Winchelsea View Golf Course. Al enjoyed motorcycle trips with his brother and recently began wintering in southern California where he made many new friends. Allan was much loved and respected, known for his loyalty and fairness to all. Big Al will truly be missed by family, friends and long time golfing partners. A celebration of life will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday October 28th at the Winchelsea Golf Course clubhouse 5655 Harby Road Lantzville. Donations may be made to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation. Time has passed quickly since I trained with Al and the rest of Troop 21/69. There are many great memories from our time in Depot. You will not be forgotten. My sincerest condolences to your family. Wayne

We will always remember you for all the fun times at get togethers in Sidney and other times through our families lives. Too soon taken from this earth. Thank you for all you did for Don.

I was a troop mate with Al, the long tall drink of water that he was. I made a few trips to Saskatoon, during training with Al as he visited his family there. I have good memories of those days and many memories of Al come flooding back. Rest in Peace Al.

I trained with Al in 1969. He was our right marker, leader of the troop. I have fond memories of Al although I haven't been in contact since. My condolences to the family. Al, God bless you. Rest in peace.
