So sorry to heat of your passing Allan. You were a true gentleman and will be remembered with great fondness. Playing again for my beloved Pa. Deepest sympathies to Margie, Stella and Hayley. And much love to our dear old Peg. Love "Big" Mel and family.

You will be missed by all the Jazz around the world, play on up there.

Al I loved listening to rehearsals from our home across the street. Your love of drums was so great to hear. You used to say to me as we passed in the street " Sursum Corda" from our Haileybury days. It means 'Lift up your hearts' and your music did.

From our first meeting on that Sunday night at Jazz Centre 44 to your last gig at Benetts, we have shared 50 plus years of a wonderful friendship. May your spirit continue within me.

you showed me so much about what music was about while we bumbled about at school - still trying to work it out even now - such a gentle soul and so wickedly funny when you wanted to be - sorry I missed catching up in the last few years - there is lesson there for all in our vintage - don't think about it - do it!

So many good memories, from the Caterina Cabaret in St Kilda via a hundred dance halls to Bennett's Lane. Clever, funny, naughty, and so talented. Tears in my eyes for you Al, there's a lot of 'Onions' up there now. Here's to making the most of a second chance. Hugs & applause.
