I knew Allan and his family when I was growing up in Edmonton in the 1960-70's. The Chappell's lived five houses down from ours. Allan was my first boyfriend, a most wonderful person, compassionate, kind, gentle. I'm so sorry that he died in such tragic circumstances and feel so much sympathy for Bonnie and his children who have lost a loving husband and father.

It was an honour to have known Allan. It was always a pleasure to meet him at the obedience and rally trials. He would always come over and greet me as if we had just met the week before no matter how long the absence. It was a shock to hear of his passing and my best wishes go out to his family and friends. He will be missed.

We are so saddened with Allan's passing. Our hearts go out to Bonnie, Allan's family and his beloved Irish Water Spaniel's.
We didn't know Allan long but looked forward to seeing him at Wine Country each year. He would greet me with a big smile and a bear hug like we were long lost friends. But he was like that with everyone.
To watch him work with his dogs was such a treat. Not sure who was having more fun.
He will be missed by so many. Some with two legs, some with four.

R.I.P. Allan. Great to have called you a friend.

Allan was such a a guineuine, kind hearted man who cares so much about his family, dogs and the people around him. He bought me a tea that afternoon and the rest of the staff coffee and donuts. I've known him for almost 8 years now, since working at the GVH and He will be greatly missed. Such a tragic thing to happen to such a good person. I'm so sorry for your loss Bonnie, Aaron and family. May he rest in peace.

. I'm saddened and shocked at the sudden passing of Al. I work at one of Al's favourite places: Salisbury Greenhouse. Many of the Salisbury staff, along with myself, will greatly miss his frequent visits. He always made my day complete with his sharp and sly wit. Nothing warmed my heart more than falling victim to one of his clever jests or ribbing or being the object of his good-natured teasing. Anyone, who could produce in others such smiles and laughter as he did is truly a gift directly from God. He was a treasure and my thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and loved ones.

We were shocked and saddened to learn of Allan's passing! Allan came into our lives as the friendly bus driver on ETS, and we all, especially Mom :) , looked forward to the times during the year that he was 'our' driver. :) Such a friendly man...great sense of humor...always 'kidding' Mom...as a trainer one day, he hopped off the back of the bus, as Mom was getting on the front, and then 'surprised' Mom by sneaking back on, and appearing behind her on the front of the bus, lol ...when he heard Mom had slipped on the ice and fell, he had a pair of ice grippers for her shoes the next day!!! Above & beyond the call of duty for sure...just one of many examples of his friendly and caring nature... we will all miss his smiling friendly greetings as we ride the bus...condolences to his Family and close friends...God Bless... Joan Fink, and son's, Keith n Gary Kinloch.

From the time I first went to Wine Country many years ago, two of the friendly faces I most looked forward to seeing were those of Allan and Bonnie Chappell. As a newbee in the world of IWS, they were among the most warm and welcoming, and amazingly, always knew who I was! I am so sad to hear of Allan's untimely passing and hope that we will still see you, Bonnie, by Seneca Lake when you can make it. My heart goes out to you and your whole family. May the God of your understanding comfort you in this terrible loss.

Our condolences to all of Allan's family... he was a long time participant in all kinds of dog activities, and we will miss seeing him run his IWS in agility (and seeing him napping in the down time).

The last time I saw him was at a trial when I dumped my 5 month old puppy in his lap and he laughed so hard when she mobbed him and covered his face with kisses... he was always kind to his dogs and people.
