Dear Mrs. Lavoie, Diana, Jennifer and John,
I was very saddened to hear that Mr. Lavoie had passed away. Even though he told me to call him AJ when we bumped into each other at music events at Victoria Park (and in other places), he'll always be Mr. Lavoie to me. I heard about his passing last weekend when I was in Pointe-Claire and since then the memories of hockey, swimming and growing up on Tampico have come rushing back to mind. He was one of the cool parents and it was a priviledge to know him. I wish I had done a better job of keeping in touch as an adult.
He was one of a kind and he will be missed.
My sympathies to you and your families, may he rest in peace.

Dear Judith, Diana, Jennifer & John:
Saddened to hear of AJ's passing. We were regular 'fans' of
"All that Jazz"; and always impressed by AJ's knowledge ... both present & historical, of the music he so loved. He clearly loved his work, and the opportunity to promote musicians and the local jazz scene. AJ Lavoie was one of a kind, and his presence will be missed. May he Rest in Peace.

I am sure you are listening to some cool jazz and cooking up a storm in a fully stocked kitchen. Be at peace.
