Shocked. I only learned of Allen's death tonight watching Brad "Scarface" Jordan on Shannon Sharp's podcast. I was at UH with Allen & Nahala Johnson in the 90's. Allen was in a film we shot for film class. We got to be friends, because he was so easy to get along with. I always followed his career & was overjoyed when he was drafted and even more proud when a fellow Coog became a Superbowl champion. Rest well, Allen.

Allen attended Willowridge and U of H with my oldest son Cedric. He was an outstanding athlete and young man! His mother was so sweet as well! Always kept up with Allen's athletic career. My heart hurts over his untimely transitioning. May God bless his entire family!

As a coach at Willowridge, I had the pleasure of sharing a lot of time with Allen and certainly a lot of memories with our O-Line family. I am thankful for our most recent visit at coaching school in July. We talked of the past as well as the future and had planned a visit at Bush HS later this month. Please know the emptiness we all feel with his passing but also know the CLASS and CHARACTER that he exhibited throughout his life here on earth will be felt in the hearts and minds of all those players he touched.

The first time I met Allen was in the freshmen football locker room in the Willowridge High School field house. This was the first time I saw that infectious smile that I enjoy every time we met. He was always a pleasure. I always enjoyed hearing him say "Hey Coach Swat". Now Tom Landry has finally gotten a GREAT assistant coach to help him coach God´s Team.

I´ve known Allen Jr. since he was a baby. His family and mine have been friends since we - the parents - were young and the Dads played football in the CFL. Beloved by his family, Allen Jr. was a sweet, loving son, brother, husband, and father.
We are devastated to learn of his passing. Sending love, strength and prayers to the family. May he rest in eternal peace in the arms of the angels.

How´s this for his obituary memory book:
Doc Bloom and Dr. Smith from UH are so proud to have known Allen as not only a great athlete but a dedicated student and friend. Words just can't convey our heartfelt sorrow, but we know he's now Heaven´s end zone and forever in our hearts.
