Allen Earl "Doc for Doctor Doom" Deed

Allen Earl Deed, also affectionately known as "Doc" or "Doctor Doom," passed away on June 27, 2024, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 62. Born on November 10, 1962, in the same city where he would eventually leave a lasting mark, Allen was a vibrant soul cherished by many.

Allen's early education was completed at Dominguez High School, where the foundations of his diverse career were laid. He proudly served in the United States Navy, a testament to his dedication and love for his country. After his military service, Allen became a self-made entrepreneur with a flair for culinary arts, a skill he inherited from his mother, Vernestine. He was particularly renowned for his barbecue skills, operating a popular spot in Compton and later catering for the community even after his establishment closed. His generosity extended beyond his business as he often provided food for those in need around him.

Allen's life was a celebration of laughter and love for sports, particularly the LA Raiders. He was often seen donning Raiders gear and enjoyed watching games on multiple televisions simultaneously. His home was filled with joy and the aroma of his famous dishes, including bbq ribs and chicken,baked beans, greens, potato salad, and his signature deep-fried turkeys just to name a few of his delicious mouth watering dishes!

He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Deed Senior; mother, Vernestine Deed; sister, Shirley Deed; and brother, Dennis Deed Junior. Allen's memory will be cherished and kept alive by his only son De Ellis Deed and grandson Jemance Deed. His eldest sister, Yolanda Deed Baker; sisters, Terri Deed Caldwell and Tracina Deed Holliday; younger brother, Gregory Deed; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who loved him .

Allen's life will be remembered as one filled with passion, community service, and an undying love for the people around him. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him as a brother, uncle, friend, and a true community hero.
