Allen Holcomb M.D.

I was looking through old papers while cleaning out a closet. I came across a note you had written me in 1997 as I was getting work up for my kidney transplant. I thought about you and wondered how you were. Wish I had reached out sooner as I am reading that you passed 5 years ago. I had my transplant in June of 1998 as you know. I am still going strong with this kidney 24 years later and I had twins! I wish I could have told you. May you eternally Rest In Peace. You were one of the good guys!

Allen was a good friend of mine, out here in Sun Valley, Idaho. He loved Jesus, and he loved his family. We played golf together, and he never said a bad word when he missed a putt. We laughed together when we shared stories. I sure do miss Allen.

Dr. Holcomb was one of the gentlest, kindest persons that this world has ever known. His smile was always genuine and the twinkle in his eye made everything special. He was so compassionate and humble.

He touched so many lives in so many ways through his professional, civic and philanthropic activities and he will be greatly missed. And all of us who knew have been greatly blessed.

My deepest condolences to his wonderful family, especially my dear Elizabeth...thank you for sharing your dad with me.

Allen was a true gentleman and a caring and superlative physician. Always greeted everyone with a smile and a nice word. I enjoyed my interactions with him at ORMC immensely. He will be missed.

Dr Holcomb exhibited expertise, compassion, and humility to those he medically managed and to those of us fortunate enough to have assisted in caring for his patients. Remembered for his warm smile, quiet demeanor and steadfast attributes. May the peace of God surround you and yours during this time and the days ahead.

Dear Sara and Family, Geneva and I deeply saddened by news of Allen's departure from this life. We have fond memories of him in Anderson. Your Mom had nothing but praise for him. He was a very humble person who never appeared to meet a stranger. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him and especially his family. Please know of our prayers, thoughts and love. My deepest thoughts to Sara and Allen's family. Allen was an important friend to my family since our high school days. He helped with my Father and was Ginger Malcom's beloved Doctor.
