Dear Mary, Stacie and Becky,
I have been keeping all of you and my most loved Uncle Alan Dean in my prayers.
I loved when he would come to Tucson from the time I was a little kid, I remember he always had such a kind and happy additude and a beautiful outlook on people. He had nice things to say about everyone and always noticed the good. His loving words and gentle manner soothed my soul when my brother Jerry passed.
All of us would be better people if we would follow his example on how to look at life. Mary, I won't forget the last time you and Al came to Tucson and we started with dinner and moved onto a full out jamboree on my folks back patio. That is how I remember him and I know that his soul is in a glorious place now and we here are left to miss his joyful presence. God bless you and peace be yours.
Love Always, Kim Igou

Mary & Family: As one of Allen Dean's classmates at Hugo, Colorado I was really saddened to hear of his passing. Not too long ago I had heard from Allen Dean after sending him a birthday card. I read the obituary and viewed the photos with great interest. He was a good student and I wasn't surprised to read how successful he was. My sincerest sympathy.....Margie Musgrave

Mrs. Igou, Stacie, Becky and Ant-I am so deeply saddened by the loss of Mr. Igou. I am blessed to know your family and love you all very much. Mr. Igou always made me feel like I was a part of your wonderful family whenever I would visit. I will always remember his great sense of humor, laugh and will especially remember the way he loved his family. You could just see that everything he did, he did with love. I would look @ Mr. & Mrs. Igou and know that I was in the presence of true & everlasting love and see how he loved and supported Stac, Becky & Ant unconditionally. It was so very obvious how much he loved you all and how much you all loved him. xoxo

Dear Stacie, Anthony, Mrs. Igou and Becky,
I just finished reading the other guest book entries, and it's clear that your husband, dad, and grandfather was a truly remarkable man. The many tributes from friends and family remind us how blessed we have been to have him in our world. What I know about the four of you is that his presence will continue here -- in the kindnesses that each of you so freely give to those around you. Stacie, you once told me as Terry's earthly life was ending, "My heart aches for you." Know that, as you prepare to send your Dad and Anthony's grandfather back home to God, my heart aches for you, too! We are fortunate that we got to know what a great man your Dad is because he taught each of you how to live your lives in service to others. Your love for him, and our love for you, will continue throughout the days and years ahead because you hold fondest memories of him in your hearts. May God give you courage, comfort and peace for the journey. Much love, Linda Murphy

I will always remember the good jam sessions we had, Al and his brothers, we had quite a band. Guitars, piano, harmonica and much singing. I know Allen Dean is with his brothers and our son Jerry jamming it up. Bye Dean until we meet again. Love you. Betty and Jack.

Dearest Mary and family,
Uncle Alan Dean was my very favorite uncle... He was ahead of his time. This man had the heart of a tiger and never complained about anything that he was going through. I always would look forward to whenever my Aunt Mary and Uncle Alan Dean would come and visit us here in the desert. Words cannot express the love and heartbreak I am feeling for the loss of a great American Alan Dean Igou. You will always be in my heart Uncle Al, Maybe I'll see you again one day.

Allen Dean was in my sister Margie's class, but in a small school I remember him as a really nice guy, and will miss not seeing him at Hugo's homecoming next year with the class of 1954.

A decent, likeable hard working man. He carried more weight on his shoulders than many of us do, but this added burden resulted in a remarkable amount of will power, determination and resilence. He was a fighter honorable and courageous. We have many great memories. Our love to his family. Jack Betty and family.

Al spent more than 70 years struggling with breathing problems. When he was around 1st grade age, I can never forget how at nite time he would be in bed on his knees with his head down and back arched because that position made breathing a little easier. Often too, he would be sick to his stomach but no matter how bad he felt he was always on time for school even after wading thru huge snow drifts to get there-about a mile. I wonder about the courage, stamina, and drive he had to never let this problem beat him. The "on time" thing was his throughout his life - he accomplished so much and all the time with the struggle to breath and just live. How wonderful it might have been if he could have had just a few months without this problem and to just breath normally. I have always admired him so much he was the shortest of the 6 brothers but stood the tallest. I enjoyed so much the weekend telephone talks we had. He sent me so many splendid emails, taught me so much about life. I am glad his struggle has finally ended but the way I will miss him will never end. And Mary - I can never tell you how much we appreciate you - always at his side thru so many critical times. I know how much this meant to him and I thank you for arranging for he and I to say goodbye. Our best to all of you - Becky, Stacie, and Anthony, you can be proud of your parents as they are of you. He was a fighter.
