Dr. Johnson (Allen) became one of my most favorite persons over the years when he married Darlyn (my sister in law); but previous to that, he also was one of my favorite surgeons having performed "delicate" surgery on me in the mid 60's.
He and Darlyn never failed to honor my grandchildren by attending their graduation parties (initially high school and then college graduations) and was adored by my three daughters (Lynda, Janet, and Donna). On many occasions, especially in later years, it was difficult for him to attend these celebrations due to his condition, but with the help of two canes and his determination, he somehow always manage to be there for my girls and their children. GOD BLESS HIM . A MAN TO BE REMEMBERED, AND I WILL!!

Allen was truly a very gentle man. He was kind, thoughtful, friendly, and I was proud to have him as my brother-in-law. When I think of him now it is with a smile on my face. He was the kind of man who appeared happiest when he could make a person smile. His journey through life was full of great accomplishments, but I believe his greatest gift was to leave us all smiling because of something he did or said to make us feel special.
My deepest sympathy goes to Darlyn and to the entire family.

Allen was one of the sweetest, most wonderful man I have ever known. He lit up the room when he was present. I really admired him and I just wish I could have gotten to know him better.

To all his family, we send our deepest sympathy to each of you. We knew Allen (& Mary) during our years at Church of the Valley and are saddened to read of his passing. He was an individual you remember and felt his kindness, compassion and warm heartedness. He has completed his life mission and will be greatly missed, but will dwell warmly in all our hearts and thoughts of him.

Allen Johnson was truly a gentleman and a scholar. His surgical skill, love of teaching and incredible enthusiasm will always be remembered. For those of us in the Surgery Department at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center we are eternally grateful for his participation in our teaching conferences and his ability to share his enormous fund of knowledge and experience. His presence was a gift to our community; his passing a great loss. Sincere sympathy to Darlyn and his family.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Johnson as an oncology nurse at San Jose Hospital. He did surgical consults for some of our patients. As a new graduate nurse, he was always kind and never intimidating.
I had the pleasure of getting to know him better when he "hooked" up with my Aunt (Darlyn). I am so sorry to hear about his passing and may all his memories bring comfort and peace.
