Dave was a good friend. He was one of the first people I came to know when I arrived in Southeastern Idaho. I will always think of him as a good friend.

Dave and I grew up together in Rexburg. We were in the same ward. Every summer my Dad and I would go on a fishing trip for several days for my birthday. I remember the year that Dave went with us to Beulla lake in Yellowstone National Park. The mosquitoes were thick unless you were on the lake we only had a small 2 man raft that really just fit 1. The limit was 2 fish per person per day. Dave came off the lake with 10 fish. :) Needless to say we started eating fish for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was a great trip and I am glad he was with us. He will be missed. I know he is in a better place.
God bless

Dave was my closest friend when I attended the Idaho State Police Academy in 1992. Me being from the east coast, Dave quickly refined my direct nature and schooled me on all things Idaho. Having the same sense of humor, we always knew what to say at the right moment - even if it meant pushups. His passing is definitely a loss for all of us.

Dave was one of the best and fair sergeants in ISP. If Dave gave you his word, right or wrong, he would stand by it. We will miss Dave.
