I remember with great joy all the vacations Ed and I shared with Peggy and Lew. I met Peggy in the late 1970´s through NSFSA. After that Peggy and I worked together and enjoyed our accomplishments but it was the joy that we shared in our off times that I remember the most. While Peggy and I worked, Ed ( my husband) and Lew had great adventures together in many places in different countries. I miss those times. I miss Lew and Peggy. Valerie Woolston

One of my earliest memories of PopPop was taking me to his lab in Maine and showing me a cancerous uterus (I was somewhere between 6-8 years old) and explaining what they did in the lab and showing me slides under the microscope has long been one of my favorite memories with PopPop. Hiking up Diamondhead when he and Grandma came out to visit us when we lived in Hawai'i was a fun one. And my visits to see him and Grandma in Rancho Mirage... we'd go through his photo albums and he'd tell me stories about his family (we have some OLD photos!), growing up in York, dating Grandma and hilarious stories from med school/the labs he's worked in. PopPop was pretty great.

I met Lee through Peggy and ICI. Lew was indelibly etched in my mind, first and foremost, as a kind man. Undoubtedly brilliant, patient and with a gentle demeanor, his wit and intelligence were always appreciated. Peggy was so fortunate to have him by her side. Deepest condolences.

Condolences to the family. We met Lew and Peggy in 1987 in Yarmouth, Maine where I worked with Peggy at the Intercultural Press. We all moved to the Northwest around the same time, and remained friends for another three decades. Lew was charming and unassuming, and wore his erudition and accomplishments lightly. We will remember him and Peggy with great affection.
