Allene Mears Carmain

My parents met Allene while working in military/civil service. My father met her in 1967. When I was born in 1979 in San Jose she was there. She was literally my first friend and sometime later like another mother to me. My mother Verna and my father Richard and I moved to Arizona in 1994. But we always remained in touch. I came back for a visit in June 1999 when I was 20 and stayed with Allene and her son Danny for a couple weeks. Those were some of the best times and sweetest memories I look back on quite often. I wish I got the chance to visit with her again but we stayed in touch always over the phone or with cards/letters. I feel privileged to have known her for 34 years. My world is a better place for having known her but won't be the same without her. I'll never forget Allene. I won't say goodbye I'll say until we meet again my special sweet friend. I love you

Allene has been my best friend since our first meeting in 1971. We shared laughter, tears, anger, frustration, and all of the emotions embodied in life. I loved her with my entire heart and would have done anything for her and, I believe, she felt the same about me. When I married in 1985, she traveled to Reno to attend my wedding and many, many times was a surrogate Mother to my son. She will always have a place in my heart as she will the heart of my husband and my son. She is and always will be so very special in our lives. Time, distance, and circumstances separated us at times but never dimmed the feelings we had for each other. God Bless you, Allene, and hold you in his loving arms. We are thankful that you did not suffer and are at peace. Please know that we will always love you. Dawn and Bob
