Alline Uresti Obituary

Published by Houston Chronicle on Feb. 19, 2013.
Alline N. Uresti passed away on February 11, 2013 in Houston, Texas. She was born on September 23, 1925 in Houston, Texas to Lorena Mae and Leroy Richardson.
She was also predeceased by four siblings, Patsy, Annie Laurie, Juanita, and J.L. The one love of her life, Rusty, with whom she shared 57 years of an amazing marriage, was taken from her in 1998. Their surviving children and their spouses are Art (Lisa), Mike (Keena), Patsy, Diane (Kevin), and Linda (Jim). These marriages have produced 12 grandchildren and in turn, 15 great-grandchildren.
Those special interests and hobbies, in addition to raising five children, that made her who she was were the amazing needlepoint pieces, her perfected sewing skills, and cooking all of the favorite foods that made family meals so memorable. Her special affection for hummingbirds and butterflies is evident in her handiwork. Now all three have taken flight, but hers is eternal.
The thought of not having a mom in your life anymore is overwhelming, yet the release of pain she endured compensates for our loss. Dad was surely pulling her upwards these past three years but God kept telling him, "Not yet, Rusty." What a love story! Not only with Dad, but from the love God has for both to unite them once again.
Mom, Gaw-Gaw, "Baby" - those are terms of endearment we are left with here on earth. She will surely get used to the new title, Angel.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with a Rosary preceding at 9:30 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 115 7th Street, Sugar Land, Texas 77478.

To all of Alline's children, I will always remember Aunt Alline as one of the sweetest ladies in our family. You all will be in my prayers as you reflect on what a blessing she was to all of her family and relatives. May God bless all of her children.
Rest in peace, Aunt Alline.

Alline and Rusty were truly a beautiful couple who did not hide their light under a bushel. Though I have not seem them since the '60s, I still remember that they were an inspiration to all who met them, a human display of God's love in the world, pillars of St. Peter's parish.
Pug, I am sure you and your family are experiencing a large emptiness, but you were nurtured by this lady, and she has raised you to know that she is truly in a better place. You have our prayers.

I didn't know Alline well but I do know that she must have been a very special lady to have raised such a very special daughter, Patsy.
Patsy, I am so sorry for your loss but am so joyful that your mom and dad are now reunited.
Love you,
Elaine
