Alma Marie Marley, better known as Reika, was born July 7, 1964 in Kansas City, Missouri to Charles Smith and Dorothy Mae Smith. Reika was the fourth of seven children. She received her education in the Kansas City Missouri School district at JS Chick and Southeast High School. Reika had many jobs during her life. She most recently worked as a caregiver/home health aide. Reika met Marthez “Marty” Marley in Kansas City and they married in 2017.
Reika departed this life on February 6, 2023. She was proceeded in death by her parents Charles and Dorothy Smith and her eldest son Terrence L. Avery Smith. Reika was a loving and caring person she was a great grandma and a super Aunt to her nieces and nephews. She loved to laugh and share jokes, she also enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Marthez “Marty” Marley; step children, Marthez Marley II and Shauntrea Marley; daughters, Rashedia Washington of Arizona, Maylaysia Blake of Kansas City, Dana Breaux of Kansas City, and Danielle Arrington- Washington of Kansas; sons, Curtis Blake Jr. of North Carolina and Xavier Smith; grandchildren, A’quartae Smith –Wellington; Alissah Smith; Sire Blake; Sani Blake, Marthez Marley III, Shauntrae Harris; brothers, Lue Smith; Nathaniel Smith; Andre Smith; sisters, Charlesetta Smith; Angela Smith; Lateshia Smith; and a host of family and friends.
Services for Mrs. Marley will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2023 at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel, Inc. Private disposition. Friends may call 11:00 a.m. until service time at the chapel.
