Alma Loisel "Puddin" McNamara

Puddin was one of the kindest, most caring, and generous woman I have ever known. She was a comfort to me at some of my lowest moments. May Puddin´s soul rest in peace.

Our prayers are with the family at this time of loss, but we all know where Puddin is right now. I thanked her in her lifetime, but thanks are due again for all the Communion visits to my Mom and Dad, Mary and Merlyn Diaz, and Mom's three sisters, Carmelite, Jean, and Connie Leydecker, in St. Angela Parish. Puddin was an angel from above for my aunts, who had lost their Mid City home after Katrina. Puddin's visits were the high point of their week! So thanks again and perpetual blessings from me and my brothers, David and Charlie.

Puddin was like a godmother to me because Buddy was my godfather. We all know who does the Christmas and birthday shopping. She water colored flowers on my wedding invitation and gave it to me 40 years ago. I liked it so much, I sent her an invite to my second wedding, same person, but this one was the Greek Orthodox one in Greece, and asked her to do that one too. They are both framed and in a shadow box table sitting next to me.

There are truly no words to describe what an extraordinary woman and role model Puddin was. She was always kind, generous, thoughtful, patient, and a great listener. Heaven must have blasted open the golden gates with trumpets galore for such a deserving soul. Puddin, you have fought the good fight, kept the faith and finished the race. Now, may you rest in peace. We love you. Mia and Matt
