ALTON THOMAS DANISCH, 85, passed away December 13, 2006, after a valiant fight against heart disease. He was born November 19, 1921, in Westhoff, TX, and raised in Schulenburg, TX. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Emily, parents, several siblings, and a great-granddaughter. Survivors include son, Raymond Danisch, Spring, TX, daughters, Elizabeth Ann Brooks, Concord, CA, Carole Dobroski, Dallas, TX, Sharon Davis, Magnolia, TX, and Lora Mabry, Tucson, AZ. He is survived by grandchildren Renee Castillo, Jerry, and Melissa Brooks, Susan Huff, Mary Daigger, Karyn, John, and Isabelle Dobroski, Brian, Mark, Jennifer, Michael, and Andrew Davis, Matthew, Daniel, and Reagan Mabry. Great-grandchildren include Courtney and Megan Huff, Chris Jones, Warren, Mikayla and Madeline Daigger, and Penelope Mabry and one great-great grandchild Arieanna Castillo. Alton was a veteran of World War II and served as Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corps with the 15th Air Force, 99th Bomb Group, 347th Bomb Squadron. His many military honors include the Purple Heart, Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, and Presidential Unit Citation. He was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 7 9 pm, December 15 at Brookside Cypress Creek Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 pm, December 16 at Epiphany Lutheran Church. He will be interred at Rosewood Cemetery, Humble, TX.
