NEW AUBURN, WI — Alton Pless Hodges, age 61, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016, at his home in New Auburn. He was born October 7, 1955, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Surry County, North Carolina, to Richard "Pless" and Rachel (Bryant) Hodges, Jr. He married Elizabeth "Ann" Edmonds on November 28, 1981, in Galax, VA. He worked as a farmer for all of his life and was a member of the Chetek and Bloomer Masonic Lodges. In his free time he enjoyed doing woodworking, carving, whittling and farming. He is survived by his parents: Richard and Rachel; wife: Ann of New Auburn; sons: Matthew, Jason, Adam (fiancée: Andrea Glad) and Andy (Hannah) Hodges, all of New Auburn; daughter: Abby (Christopher) Dahl of New Auburn; brother: Jeffery (Peggy) Hodges of North Carolina; one grandchild: Camden Dahl. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Troy and Alpha Bryant; paternal grandparents: Richard and Elector Hodges, Sr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, October 11, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM with a Masonic Memorial Service at 7:30 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Chetek.
